Crossing Points

The history of paths and tales is known,

At the junctions where the asphalt meets the stone.

Lines that unite, where routes align,

These are the intersections that create a wonderful design.

The 3-and-4-way stops are the most common,

Where traffic rules dictate who may come.

At these intersections, vehicles pause,

Allowing the one with the right-of-way, to follow the laws.

At these stops, traffic lights are used,

If the roads that intersect are well-utilized.

Crosswalks or pedestrian crossings can also be added,

So, humans using those will also be delighted.

Roundabouts, or rotundas, are intersections that are circular,

In some countries like the UK, these are the most used and most popular.

Unlike the first ones, vehicles move in one direction,

In either smooth clockwise or counterclockwise circular motion.

Interchanges are intersections made up of many levels or grades,

These are most utilized in freeways and expressways.

There, the vehicles pass on each different gradient,

Making traveling and transporting safe and efficient.
